I learned so many things working with Madison and Andrew. They had an engagement session where they live now in Arizona, a wedding photographer that lived in Indiana at the time (now Florida), and a wedding in their hometown in Oregon. It didn’t matter where they were, they were always excited to be there together. They were incredibly laid-back, fun seeking, and in a word totally obsessed with each other. As long as the people they loved were there, it didn’t matter what happened. Their wedding day would feel complete the way it was supposed to be.

The wedding was in a family members barn, with a plywood dance floor, a handmade hexagon arch and a beautiful Oregon mountainside backdrop initially planned for their for their vows. We also had super high winds, so eventually the plan was adapted to being inside the barn. Again a little off plan, but it was beautiful nonetheless. Madison and Andrew just rode with it and celebrated anyway. The mountains were later used for some quick sunset photographs of just them – which in my opinion made it even more special.

Two moments have really stuck with me from this wedding: the first look with Madison’s incredibly expressive father & Madison stopping in the middle of her first dance to pet one a very curious dog who was part of the staff at the barn.
